Voice: Monica Ramos

Monica is originally from Bogotá, Colombia. She graduated from the Universidad del Bosque in 2007 with a degree in Music, specializing in Classical Singing & Instrumental Teaching, under the guidance of Ramon Calzadilla and Liliana Iordanova. Despite her classical background, Monica has shifted her focus in recent years to popular music, delving into a diverse repertoire of rich Latin, jazz, and folk genres. As a regular soloist for various bands and ensembles, she has showcased her talents in jazz and Latin-American repertoires, encompassing cumbias, boleros, tangos, and bossas. In recent years, Monica has had the opportunity to perform in cities like Bogotá, New York, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Seattle, where she currently resides. During one of her more beautiful performances, in 2019 Monica performed in Seattle’s Benaroya Hall with Encanto Arts.

Bass: Court Crawford

Court grew up in New York City. Congas were in the park every weekend. After moving west to attend the University of Oregon, he performed in the Bay Area with Philip Greenlief, Seattle with Jeffrey Morgan, and appeared on the 1991 Sonny Sims Reincarnation record on Arhoolie records. While playing all that free jazz, he also performed as a touring conguero with the Mud Bay Jugglers. In 2015 he decided to focus more on latin music because there’s nothing like the feeling of being a part of a conga battery. Court is blessed to have met and learned from Joe Santiago, Eddie Resto, Jose Hermida, Gaston Joya, and Feliciano Arango, in addition to Glen Moore, Chuck Metcalf, Eddie Schuller, Bert Turetzky, Putter Smith.
